Anya's Ghost

Anya Borzakovskaya is not a very likeable person. She cheats on tests, is rude to friends, has a sharp cutting tongue, and wears a perpetual sneer.
But then Anya doesn't think she has much to be friendly about. She's completely embarrassed by her Russian immigrant family. Her clothes are all wrong. Her weight is a real problem. She goes to a third-rate snooty private school. And the boy at school she likes, Sean, doesn't even know she is there.

Then to top it off...she fell into a well.
A well that had bones in the bottom...and a ghost!
By the time Anya is rescued two days later, she has made a tentative friendship with the ghost, Emily. Having Anya carry one of Emily's tiny bones out of the well allows the ghost to go out into the world again for the first time in ninety years.
