Gwen Dylan is an aloof, ultra hip graveyard digger! She is also a zombie. Once a month she sneaks into the eco-friendly cemetery in Eugene, Oregon, reopens a grave, and snacks on a human brain. The gray matter keeps her zombie instincts at bay.
The only problem (besides a brainy aftertaste) is that, until she eats the next brain, she takes on the personality and has memory flashbacks of the person she has snacked on. She also feels compelled to follow up on their last wishes.

This time, the victim knew about a murder, and now Gwen is compelled to solve it. With the help of her best friend Eleanor, a melancholy swinging 60's ghost, and Scott, a smitten were-terrier, she goes after the bad guy.
Along the way Gwen runs into a posse of sorority sisters, vamping vampires who run a paintball business, and a couple of white coated strangers who are monster hunters. One of them, Horatio, Gwen definitely needs to keep at a distance...but he so darn cute!
