Sixth-grader Isabelle Bean hears a persistent, infuriating buzz in her ears. It is so insistent and distracting that her teacher finally gives up trying to get Isabelle to pay attention and sends her to the principal. To Isabelle, it sounds like she is about to fall off the edge of the universe.
Isabelle never makes it down the hall. She instead falls into another world, from where the buzzing comes.
