While researching Mayan artifacts, Jake's parents simply disappear. Jake, an eighth grader, and his sister Kady are invited to the British Museum to view the artifacts. Jake discovers a slot in a small gold pyramid at the museum and, with the help of a Mayan coin, he and Kady are transported into a strange new place.
