Deep within the Alaskan Northern Piney Woods when the moon is full, all the animals gather to hear Maynard Moose tell Mother Moose Tales in the original old moose speech. Humans have a very hard time understanding this speech because it is uniquely moose.
In one of the tales, a tired moose wanders off to the pond where he finds a nest to curl up in and falls asleep. Mother duck returns to the nest to check her eggs and discovers the little moose. She thinks he is one of her hatched eggs. She thinks this new little “duckling” is quite uglified.

When all the eggs hatch, mother duck has six little ones to teach to waddle, quack, swim, and fly. Little moose fails at all the ducky activities. Even Dr. Quack can't help the little moose become less uglified.
Sad and discouraged, and sore from trying to fly, little moose wanders away. Will he ever learn to fly? Back in the woods he meets beautiful animals. Who are they? And what do they want to tell him?
