about the book
Monday, September 26. Worst. Day. Ever.
High school junior Ellie Sparks lands a ticket for running a red light.
She gets drenched on the way to school.
She flubs a campaign speech for vice president of her class.
She bombs varsity softball tryouts.
And the bombshell—Tristan dumps her.
Please just let me do it over again, pleads Ellie at the end of the day.
Oddly, the next morning plays out a lot like September 26 all over again—that’s because it is! In a strange twist of the time/space continuum, Ellie gets five chances to relive September 26.
Once she realizes her luck, Ellie frantically works to right her wrongs each day and learns important lessons about love, friendship, success, and failure.
about the author
The first novel Jessica Brody ever wrote was The Puppy and the Kitty, at age seven. She self-published many other novels in her young age and even ran her own book binding business financed by her parents. Supplies included cardboard, wallpaper, rubber cement, and electrical tape.
Unfortunately, adulthood and doubt prevented her from pursuing art in college. She ended up with a degree in economics and became an acquisitions and business development manager for MGM studios. A corporatewide layoff in 2005 lead her back home one holiday where she reopened the box of self-published books her parents had kept. Jessica decided then and there to take the layoff severance package and follow her dream of becoming a writer.
Splitting her time between California and Colorado, Jessica is specific about food preferences. She loves bananas but hates banana-flavored anything. She loves guacamole but can’t eat it, because she is allergic to avocados. At her birthday parties, she serves her favorites: sushi, pixy sticks, and afternoon tea sandwiches. When she buys any of these items, she prefers the self-checkouts. (She gains inordinate satisfaction in scanning her own purchases.)
