about the book
No sooner do busy ninja parents drop their little ninja kids off at Dojo Daycare than the Master of the dojo realizes he may have bitten off more than he can chew. As soon as the parents are gone… “KABOOM! KAPOW!” The little ninjas start brawling with kicks and punches over who gets to play with what toys. The Master tries to quiet them down, reminding them of ninja honor, kindness, and respect.
It works! Sort of. But as soon as storytime rolls around, the brawl starts again. And again at lunch time… The Master nearly breaks down in tears, unable to control the toddling ninjas.
One heroic little ninja sees the pain they’ve caused the Master, though, and using the Master’s own words about honor, kindness, and respect, he convinces the other little ninjas to stop rioting and put things right.

Art’s Supplies by Chris Tougas
A young boy named Art loves artwork. One day all the art supplies in his studio come to life! The crayons roll out of their boxes, the pastels “blend” well with the crowd, and all sorts of glues, boxes, markers, scissors, and brushes get up and begin making a mess! Or not a mess. Maybe they are making art? Maybe a mess can be art?
My Grandma’s a Ninja by Todd Tappley
One day, Ethan’s grandma suggests that they get to his school by way of a zip line. This is a big hint that his grandma is, shall we say, a little different? In fact, Ethan’s grandma is a ninja, and feels right at home dropping from the ceiling for Ethan’s show-and-tell. However, having a ninja grandma isn’t as great as it sounds—for example, when she accidentally deflates Ethan’s soccer ball…
Nighttime Ninja by Barbara DaCosta
At night, when everyone is asleep in the house and all is quiet, a ninja creeps through the house’s halls. He is in search of the ultimate goal, but it is guarded… The ninja is nearly to his prize when a strangely mom-shaped shadow flicks on the lights, revealing the ninja’s true identity!
