about the book
What happens when a young Frog decides he doesn’t want to be a frog anymore?
Frog hates being slimy and wet all the time. Almost anything would be better, right? How about a cat. Or an owl? Maybe a nice rabbit. Frog can hop, after all. “Sure,” says his father, “but where are your long ears?” Feeling around on his head, Frog decides maybe he can’t be a rabbit after all, which bums him out. But owl, cat, and even pig are still on the table! Surely Frog could manage being one of them?
Then a scary, hungry wolf comes around. A scary, hungry wolf that just loves to eat cats, pigs, rabbits, and owls—but not frogs. Frogs are too slimy, and wet, and they eat bugs. Gross!
Maybe young Frog should learn to be thankful for who he is?
about the author
Dev Petty grew up in Berkeley, California. Her first career job was in Visual Effects, which lasted ten years. She would sit in a very dark room and paint textures for films and TV. She loved it! You can find her listed on the Internet Movie Database to confirm it. After she had her daughters, though, Dev decided she needed something else to do with what free time she got while being a mommy.
Writing was that something else. Dev decided it would be pretty awesome to write books for kids, so she tried her hand at it. She succeeded!
Today Dev lives with her family in Albany, California, still close to her hometown. She loves Californian culture. She is not a great gardener, but she is really good a word jumbles. Another interesting fact is that Dev was on the Bay Bridge during the earthquake of 1989.
