Grave Mercy (His Fair Assassin Trilogy, Book 1)

about the book

When she was born, Ismae was poisoned by a witch. Surviving with a wicked red scar from her shoulder to her hip, Ismae’s life was one of constant tension and conflict, all the way up to her seventeenth year, when she was forcibly married to a cruel man.

Escaping on her wedding night, Ismae takes refuge in Brittany’s convent of St. Mortain. Ismae is shocked to learn that this convent worships the pagan god of Death. And they believe she is Death’s daughter.

The sisters train Ismae to become the deadliest of assassins. After two successful kills, the sisters dispatch her to the court of Anne of Brittany to keep watch over her and discover if her half-brother, Gavriel Duval, is really on her side. If he isn’t, Ismae may have kill him.

But how can she do that when she has been slowly but surely falling in love with him?
