about the book
Fisher wakes up far in the future to a world strange and dangerous. Apparently, he is the only one to have made it out of the wreckage of his survival bunker. There are no other humans in sight.
Fisher worries he might be the last.
Just because he can’t see any other humans does not mean that he is alone, however. There is Click, a robot Fisher finds that has been programmed to help Fisher “continue existing.” overprotective, like the worst of parents.
Then one day in their exploration they discover evidence that Fisher may not, in fact, be the last human after all.
about the author
Greg’s last name is pronounced “van EEKhout.” He was born in the Western half of the US, and he has lived there all his life, currently in the city of San Diego. His parents are a mix of Dutch and Indonesian nationalities, and if you know of anywhere in San Diego where they serve Indonesian food, you should send Greg a message.
Before he became a successful writer, Greg held many jobs to pay the bills and purchase food. He was an ice cream dipper, a telemarketer, a clerk at a comic book store, a bookstore manager, a book seller, a developer of educational multimedia, and a college teacher of English and multimedia. This is not an exhaustive list.
The list of other things Greg wanted to be is a bit more interesting, like being an astronomer, or a marine biologist.
Or an X-wing pilot.
