The Clockwork Scarab (Stoker & Holmes, Book 1)

about the book

Evaline Stoker and Mina Holmes have names to live up to, up to which they wish they did not have to live: Evaline is the sister of Bram Stoker the vampire slayer; Mina Holmes is the niece of the Great Detective Sherlock himself. Vampire-hunting and mystery-solving are in their blood. Too bad they are bitter rivals!

The girls will have to get over their rivalry quickly if anyone is to have any hope of finding out why two high-society girls disappeared. That sounds like a job for the sleuthing skills of Miss Holmes. A string of murders becomes connected to the mystery, and the state of the corpses hints at vampire work—meaning Miss Stoker is perfect for the job, too.

Aside from their detective/vampire-hunting work, the very eligible and pretty girls must also navigate the advances of not one, not even two, but three mysterious gentlemen.

Their only clue to it all involves an ancient Egyptian artifact called the Clockwork Scarab.

about the author
