about the book
After taking a beating from the Three Pigs and their ninja skills, the big bad Wolf can’t catch a break. Now that the pigs have taught other fairy tale characters the ways of the ninja, it is even worse! It is no longer enough to huff and puff and scare up a decent meal.
Wolf has to do something. He decides to take some classes at the dojo, too! Now Wolf has a few new moves up his sleeve, and he is so ready to go get some food. Perhaps a little girl in a red hood, and her grandmother, will be easy targets?
What Wolf doesn’t know is that Little Red Riding Hood has gone to the Three Pigs’s ninja school, too. Everything is shaping up for a wild sparring match in the woods between Red and Wolf!
about the author
Ever since she got her first picture book, Hop! Plop!, published, Corey Schwartz has longed to make a rewrite of some fairy tale.
Then one day she overheard someone having a conversation with her three-year-old son. He was asked if he spoke Spanish. His reply was, “No, but I speak a little karate.” And BOOM! There was the idea—she would put karate into the story of The Three Little Pigs.
While she has no ninja skills, Corey is rather good at Scrabble. Corey lives in Warren, New Jersey, with three “Knuckleheads”—her husband, daughter, and son.

They are Papa Bear, Mama Bear, and Baby Bear, and together they make a smashing rock-‘n’-roll trio. The only thing they are missing is a singer who can hit the high notes, and then they will make it big. But who could they get for a singer? None of the Three Pigs, that’s for sure, nor Little Red Riding Hood…. but wait! Who’s this blonde girl sleeping on Baby Bear’s keyboard?
The Boy Who Cried Ninja by Alex Latimer
Tim isn’t lying, honest! A ninja really did just sneak in and eat the last slice of cake—kicking it in the air and catching it in his mouth, all ninja-style! When he cries out that there is a ninja in the house, no one believes him, just like that boy in the story about the wolf… Other strange characters appear—a monkey, an astronaut, even a giant octopus—and do things only Tim sees. How can he get others to notice what’s really going on?
Wolf Won’t Bite! by Emily Gravett
