about the book
Peanut Butter is tired of playing soccer alone. How hard can it be to find a friend?
Wandering his new neighborhood, Peanut Butter invites many of his neighbors to be his friend by singing this tune: “Hello, I’m new here, and I’d like to play / Maybe now, maybe later—or even all day / I’ll make you chuckle deep down in your belly / And we’ll go together like Peanut Butter and ….”
Cupcake! French fries! Egg! Meatball! Hamburger!
But everyone is too busy to play. Then finally he meets the perfect friend. They “go together like Peanut Butter and ….”
about the author
Terry Border has a degree in Fine Art Photography from Ball State University. While working for years as a commercial photographer, he took pictures of the most boring, mind-numbing things.
But in 2006, he began his Bent Objects project, where he added wire to ordinary objects to help pose them as living characters and photographing them. The objects range from pill bottles to playing cards, and pastries to peanuts. In the beginning, he was hoping to sell his wire creations, but people wanted photos instead. When he started adding humor to the pieces, things took off—people really connected with the art!
Terry’s inspiration comes from everything, everywhere. If an everyday object reminds him of something else, he’ll try to show others the connection he made while adding humor and emotion. An example of this is when he turned peanuts into zombies.
He eats at least one banana a day, doesn’t have the patience to wait in line at theme parks, and thinks the child snatcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is the scariest villain out there.
Terry has spent most of his life in the Indianapolis, Indiana, area.

The Great Eggscape by Susan Glass
Eggs Benedict and Aggie break out of the box of dyed Easter eggs! The two set about wreaking havoc among the fruits and vegetables. “They mashed the potatoes, stalked the celery, and tossed the salad.” Will anyone stand up to the Bonnie and Clyde of the refrigerator?
