about the book

Tragedy strikes early for seven-year-old Robin Loxley in this Robin Hood retelling. While hunting in the Winter Forest, Robin’s father seemingly abandons him and, when he returns home, his family too, is gone.

Robin is taken as a ward to Sir Bors, but when he isn’t accepted and is bullied by peers, he flees to the forest. Already a master woodsman, Robin survives and meets the rebellious Lady Marian and the two become inseparable.

Evil destroys their happy existence when the Sheriff of Nottingham captures and imprisons Marian and leaves Robin blind and abandoned in Sherwood Forest. There, Robin meets a trio of magical and frightening creatures: a Wargwolf, a shapeshifting Goddess, and the Green Man who help him discover the wisdom of the woodlands. He can use this wisdom to overcome his blindness and battle the sinister Sheriff to free Marian.
